About Me

My name is Raine Wu, a rising senior majoring in Public Relations at Syracuse University with a minor in music history & cultures. I’m a versatile communication professional with experience in the realm of public relations, media relations, social media branding, event planning, content creation, branding, digital/analog photography, video production, graphic design, music industry, intellectual property, and more.

I was raised exploring the islands and ocean of the Zhoushan archipelago — it is the richest fishing ground in China and also the easternmost part of the mainland, where the first rays of the morning sun shine. That much time alone with the seawater, sands, and marine life shaped the way I see the world: always be tolerant and always embrace new things.

I believe the meaning of life is exploration, which is a fundamental revere to the immense world. At school, I’ve taken courses including public relations principles & practices, writing for PR, social media content optimization, and PR research. I also took courses outside my major, including video production and graphic design. I received As in all of those courses mentioned above. After school, I worked as a new media intern for PR agencies, including Ketchum and Blue Focus, utilizing what I learned in college. I also worked as an intellectual property Intern for UCCA Center for Contemporary Art and successfully organized the Brightmorrow Public Art Showcase exhibited in Shanghai.

At school, I worked as a social media specialist for a student organization, and now I’m a video producer and editor at WeMedia Lab. I’m a freelance photographer specializing in film photography. My work The Island was exhibited in Memory Exchange Project Exhibition at FUJIFILM X-SPACE in Shanghai in 2021. As a music enthusiast, I also planned and promoted a campus music festival called OJAM.

Whether I’m writing in the field of public relations, viewing the world through my camera lens, or promoting an upcoming live music event, I’m always looking to grow, both as a professional and as an individual. With a complex brain and a simple heart, I just want to keep learning, thinking, and improving.

Through my three-year study at Syracuse University, I’ve had a solid understanding of public relations. I value the knowledge I’ve gained and am eager to explore more about this field. Now, I’m looking forward to taking the lessons I’ve received into practice.
